Mr. Henderson, I think that

Published April 26th, 2006 by Bobby Henderson

Mr. Henderson, I think that it is completely unacceptable that you make such a mockery of God, our Creator. People like you just can’t realize that nothing would even exist on Earth if it weren’t for God. In addition, I think that it is a huge mistake to always regard science as authoritative fact because science itself is an endeavor which has been created by humans, and we are far from perfect in our own regard. The only explanation for the existence of such an orderly, complex universe is that almighty God created it (the teleological argument). The fact that the vast majority of people in this world personally attest to God’s presence in their life cannot be overlooked. I hope that you will rethink your absurdly abrasive approach to such a weighty issue.

Sincerely, J.H.C.

Look! I just created Physics! I bet no one thought of this before!

  2. Count Crisco says:

What would you say if I said that nothing would exist without the FSM?
“The only explanation for the existence of such an orderly, complex universe is that almighty God created it.” …. You seem pretty confident that there’s only ONE explanation to the universe. But we try to stay open minded. And by the way, we’re not “mocking God” as you guys keep saying, we’re mocking the absurdity of, although probably a minority, the loudest and most obnoxious brand of fundis.

FSM here! My followers are not afraid of the unknown. Questions that cannot be answered by scince still don’t have an answer. It simple, “I don’t know.” Just admit it rather than believing in some made up bullshit.

Kira have mercy on your soul…..

The fact that you’re refering to yourself as Jesus H. Christ (JHC) tells me you’re either blasphemeing yourself into your own fiery pit, or you’re not a true Christian. And by the by…. if it weren’t for Christians, Jews, and Muslims, we would all continue existing long after the impending doom due to religeous diffences by the three “Main” world religeons. The only people looking for “Armageddon” and willing to take an active role in making it happen, are the “God fearing” religeons of the world. Even the most f@#%ed up Buddhist countries in the world aren’t trying to destroy Christianity or Judaism, or Islam…. (They’re too busy destroying themselves) Even China, deemed erroneously as a threat to western civilization is more Christian than Buddhist. That’s how they became such a threat, by beleiving in the same god. The same mistake that everyone else made. Sure, you can say…”But Bob, the Buddhists are being trampled on in Tibet, and all over the Asian world.” True. But would that have happened had it not been for Christianity and Communism (Born out of the Russian Orthodox church)?
Anywhooo…. If this isn’t just a funny blog by another Pastafarian…. maybe you should look at yourself. I bet your one of those that beleive in the Rapture or the book of Revelations. Do you really beleive that you will be one of the chosen few with your absolute assuredness that you’re right and Pastafarians (and everyone else) is wrong? That’s “pride”, a DEADLY sin… Think about it.

    Kiss, Kiss,
    Bob

  7. Epicurus says:

A quote from a great man:
β€œIs God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
    Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
    Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
    Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
    Then why call him God?”

somehow, the replies to this mail are not as amusing or witty, or even smart (in my humble opinion). So, I will give this a go, seeing as how I think I might actually have something interesting to state.
First of all, your email strikes me as coherent, well written and respectful. Which is quite refreshing.
Secondly, I think you might find it interesting to know that in the FAQ, Henderson explained, “I don’t have a problem with religion. What I have a problem with is religion posing as science. If there is a god and he’s intelligent, then I would guess he has a sense of humor.”
This does not mean that the Church of the FSM thinks of science as authoritative fact.
Do you really think that the universe is orderly? complex, yes…but it is utterly chaotic!
Furthermore, it is not an abrasive approach, it is a silly one! A humorous one!
It is meant to confound you and make you laugh! Also, FSM does not make a mockery out of god, it is simply a mockery of dogmatic religion. I think that what FSM tries to teach us is that god does not have a specific form or a particular shape.
On a last note, lighten up! Hey, that is the point of FSM, that there IS no ONE truth, no one factual thing we should ALL ascribe to.
