Mr. Henderson, I think that it is completely unacceptable that you make such a mockery of God, our Creator. People like you just can’t realize that nothing would even exist on Earth if it weren’t for God. In addition, I think that it is a huge mistake to always regard science as authoritative fact because science itself is an endeavor which has been created by humans, and we are far from perfect in our own regard. The only explanation for the existence of such an orderly, complex universe is that almighty God created it (the teleological argument). The fact that the vast majority of people in this world personally attest to God’s presence in their life cannot be overlooked. I hope that you will rethink your absurdly abrasive approach to such a weighty issue.
Sincerely, J.H.C.

“The fact that the vast majority of people in this world personally attest to God’s presence in their life cannot be overlooked.”
So what? I’m pretty sure they’re’s something called, “Freedom of Speech”.
You see, one day we decided people could say or like differant things then other people, and made it a law. The end.
And knowing is half the battle.
“In addition, I think that it is a huge mistake to always regard science as authoritative fact because science itself is an endeavor which has been created by humans, and we are far from perfect in our own regard.”
Now, wait a minute…religion was created by humans, for the purpose of coming to peace with life, death, etc. “Science” was created by humans so that we could, through concrete, fact-based means, come to terms with the world we live in.
“They” continue to amaze me with how single-sided and closed-minded their arguments are. If a statement applies to one side, it applies equally to the other. That’s just common sense.
You small minded little turd.
You have to believe in something to mock it.
I dont.
To me, the christian faith is just a misguided flock of sheep.
Yes, misguided, as in force fed fairy tales from birth.
Baaaaaaa!
I cant speak for all but I dont mock your god.
I mock you and everyone like you.
The world is changing.
Open your mind.
“The fact that the vast majority of people in this world personally attest to God’s presence in their life cannot be overlooked.”
.
Nether can the fact that the vast majority of people don’t ever have the chance and/or intelligence to understand evolution.
.
the teleological argument - this was smashed when Darwin first told someone about his theory. It is a difficult concept to understand how something complex can come about through simple things. This is Darwins greatest problem. But you have a far greater problem “Where did God come from?” and telling me he was always there is weak at best.
“The fact that the vast majority of people in this world personally attest to God’s presence in their life cannot be overlooked.”
People personally attested to the world being flat 500 years ago, but thats been proved false.
Why did these people so often claim to speak for the majority? I’ve challenged a few of those claims in the past and the claimant has always tried to back away.
The majority of the population of this planet do not follow any of the Abrahamic religions. Last time I heard a figure I think it was 6 billion people of whom only about 2.5 billion follow one of the Abrahamic faiths, that ain’t no majority I’ve ever heard off.
It’s also worth noting that of the followers of Christianity only a small, but very vocal minority support Creationism.
I realize I am dredging a few old pieces here, but… Did this one actually end with the initials for Jesus H Christ?
“The fact that the vast majority of people in this world personally attest to God’s presence in their life cannot be overlooked.” So you think science should be determined by a popularity contest and not any kind of actual thought? By the way, non-christians outnumber christians worldwide hands down.
Look! I just created Physics! I bet no one thought of this before!
What would you say if I said that nothing would exist without the FSM?
“The only explanation for the existence of such an orderly, complex universe is that almighty God created it.” …. You seem pretty confident that there’s only ONE explanation to the universe. But we try to stay open minded. And by the way, we’re not “mocking God” as you guys keep saying, we’re mocking the absurdity of, although probably a minority, the loudest and most obnoxious brand of fundis.
FSM here! My followers are not afraid of the unknown. Questions that cannot be answered by scince still don’t have an answer. It simple, “I don’t know.” Just admit it rather than believing in some made up bullshit.
Kira have mercy on your soul…..
Baaaa!
Baaaa, baa baaaaa. Baaaaaa, God, baaaa. Jesus, God, baaaaa!
Faggots, baaaaa.
Baaa,

A quote from a great man:
“Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?”
somehow, the replies to this mail are not as amusing or witty, or even smart (in my humble opinion). So, I will give this a go, seeing as how I think I might actually have something interesting to state.
First of all, your email strikes me as coherent, well written and respectful. Which is quite refreshing.
Secondly, I think you might find it interesting to know that in the FAQ, Henderson explained, “I don’t have a problem with religion. What I have a problem with is religion posing as science. If there is a god and he’s intelligent, then I would guess he has a sense of humor.”
This does not mean that the Church of the FSM thinks of science as authoritative fact.
Do you really think that the universe is orderly? complex, yes…but it is utterly chaotic!
Furthermore, it is not an abrasive approach, it is a silly one! A humorous one!
It is meant to confound you and make you laugh! Also, FSM does not make a mockery out of god, it is simply a mockery of dogmatic religion. I think that what FSM tries to teach us is that god does not have a specific form or a particular shape.
On a last note, lighten up! Hey, that is the point of FSM, that there IS no ONE truth, no one factual thing we should ALL ascribe to.
