Dear Mr. Henderson, I must

Dear Mr. Henderson, I must say, after looking at your website, I was slightly offended. I, for one, am a support of ID, and believe me, it does not involve some mockery of God as a Italian noodle. Frankly, your webpage is flys in the face of entire idea of a real church, and missleads some poor fool into thinking your dribble about a ‘flying spaghetti monster’ is true. I hope you see the error of your ways and get rid of this compleltly unhomrourous version of ID. May He have mercy on you for creating this offensive website. Sincerely, Matt

    How do YOU know FSM isn’t real? How do YOU know that YOUR god is real? For all any of us knows this universe was crapped out of some squirrel’s arse. Before you insult my belief and that of thousands of others, maybe you should have some substantial reason as to why my religion is wrong and yours is right.

    If you insist on using the arguement that our faith has many resemblences to previously existing faiths as a disproof of the validity of our faith, then you must accept the same arguement can be applied to disprove the validity of christianity, as it has numerous similarities to previously existing faiths. Any arguements against our religion that you have that are outside the dogma and beliefs of your religion can be just as validly applied to your religion.

    We can PROVE our faith. We have evidence to back everything. The FSM is real, not fake, like that ‘jesus’ or whatever his name is. I urge you to look deep into your heart and wait for him to reveal his noodly presence to you. He will if you ask him to. Until then, try not to blaspheme, or you’ll be so sorry when we get our stripper factory and you get nothing. Besides, your religion is ‘compleltly unhomrourous’and ours is very ‘homrourous’. May the SFM have mercy on you.

    Dear Matt, I must say, after looking at your comment, I was slightly offended. I, for one, am a support of Flying Spaghetti Monster, and believe me, it does not involve some mockery of God as a anthropomorphised supreme diety sitting on a “throne” in “heaven”. Frankly, your comment is flys in the face of entire idea of a real church, and missleads some poor fool into thinking your dribble about a ‘god’ is true. I hope you see the error of your ways and get rid of this compleltly unhomrourous version of religion. May Flying Spaghetti Monster have mercy on you for creating this offensive comment. Why won’t these people understand? Its not about misleading. Its about embracing. This website is guilty of a great many things, but misleading people is not one of them.

    I believe that these hatemail posts are concocted by the admins to keep the members humming.

    After contiuously seeing site, what being a religous fanatic does to spelling and grammar, I shudder to think what they have in mind for science.

    AS she puts keyborad in mouth. The word site does not belong in that sentence.

    Dear Matt, if you believe in the myth of ID then I wish more people would offend you. Are you offended my Islam? or the Jewish religion too? you probably are!

    Nikkiee, I think you have been possessed by the typo demons. OEJ isn’t sure, but he thinks he might be able to help me with (hand-on, of course) faith healing. Maybe he can help you, too.

  11. 11 One Eyed Jack Oct 20th, 2006 at 7:05 pm

    Yes, yes. I can help.
    .
    I haven’t perfected the “over the phone” or “via the internet” healing like some faith healers and psychics have, but I’m working on it.

    Actually it was the fairies in my computer, not me. Isn’t it just great when you edit a typo and post another in the process.

    what does “unhomrourous” mean? Does it mean not gay?

    Dear, Dear Matt;
    “and missleads some poor fool into thinking your dribble about a ‘flying spaghetti monster’ is true.” If it was so easy for someone to be misled into thinking that FSM is true, I suggest that the poor fool would be a christian, not a Pastafarian. I mean, christians have been misleading fools for centuries.

  15. 15 Branded Cow Dec 26th, 2006 at 1:26 pm

    @maxwell: The Christian church have been in the business of misleading for quite some time. Their extensive experience in this field have seen to it that many intelligent people choose to be dooped into the darkness of faith.
    .
    The danger with convincing intelligent people is they are able to think of arguements to support their idea. ID is one of those arguements. It takes the Adam and Eve story and expands it to accept the evidence of evolution.

  16. 16 maxwell Dec 26th, 2006 at 1:44 pm

    I understand ID. I must be missing your point.

  17. 17 Branded Cow Dec 26th, 2006 at 1:51 pm

    I was trying to expand on your point with the first paragraph and tell the anonymous writer that ID is another false arguement.

  18. 18 maxwell Dec 26th, 2006 at 2:02 pm

    Ok, I understand. Thanks. Educated christians can put forth pretty good *sounding* arguments, but they always fail. It’s like arguing that the sun rises in the west. I can throw all kinds of equations and jargon out, and make it *sound* good, but that fluff doesn’t change the facts. Christians do the same thing when arguing for ID. The underlying premise is false, so all of the arguments built upon it are false. But, boy-howdy try to tell them that! You’ll get back a snarling reply, or they just disappear. I’ve had a few that would debate ‘proof’ of god, but again, their proof is the bible.

    What is this Borat or something? “I for one am support of ID…”? “unhomrourous”?

    Actually we might be unhomrourous.

    @maxwell
    I’ve posted this link on another thread. It is an interesting read.

Purchase the Gospel

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
