The only thing that surprises

The only thing that surprises me about your church is that people are actually paying attention to it. Of course, here I am writing you an e-mail. Although I’m not religious, I think that dipshits like yourself that mock the beliefs of others should be shot. You should get a girlfriend. The fact is (although I know that you’ll think this is ridiculous) that your beliefs are no less religious than Christians. One thing I’ve noticed about us evolutionists is that evolution serves the function of a religion for us. We want to believe in evolution just as much as christians want to believe that Jesus is god. Some of us, however, are reasonable and have nothing against religion or religious people, whereas obnoxious people like yourself make the rest of us look bad. Do you think you actually have the support of the scientific community? We repudiate people like yourself more than anyone else, including ID people. Not one of my professors would support this type of behavior. Some of the greatest thinkers in the world have been Christians. That does not make them right, but I’m pretty sure that there have been many Christians smarter than yourself. Dostoevsky & Kierkegaard for example possessed a genius that makes you and me both look like simpletons. I’m sure your self-involved enough to continue this mockery as long as people will pay attention, but don’t forget that your an amateur being praised by people whose beliefs are as influenced by non-rational forces as Christian’s beliefs are. You should do the rest of us a favor and shut the fuck up.

This guy has not got a clue, rational belief backed up by evidence from numerous scientific fields does not equil a religion based on a book and superstitious fear.
    .
Dostoevsky & Kierkegaard, Jean Paul Sartre makes them look like play schoolers, so you point is? Plus both Dostoevsky & Kierkegaard where alive in periods when Atheism was not really an option.
    .
To go a little further Kierkegaard was the first recognised existentialist philosopher, I believe that a few other people before him border on getting that honor. Now even a theist existentialist is tilting on the edge of atheism.
    .
If you believe in a God who has a purpuse for you then it is hard to hold the belief that a man exists before his existence has value or meaning.

I don’t want a girlfriend I prefer to sleep around whilst I am still young, but as you are a good christian you would not have had sex before marrage so you would not know much about this.

You will also find that Kierkegaard is called an arrogant Atheist by a lot of religions people who know much about his views.

Obnoxious people like yourself make the rest of us biologists look bad.

Also, please do not refer to yourself as an “evolutionist”.
If you were, then you would be aware of the employment of molecular tools to detect evolutionary relationships, as well as findings of such research. No “belief” needed.
    Evidence speaks for itself!

I don’t think Dostoevsky was a Christian. Also, partner, don’t be so fucking lame. If you are an evolutionist, at least you have some sense. Don’t be a boring, ridiculous, uptight loser like the Christians.

Oh, and as for girlfriends, us Pastafarians get our share, baby! I love fucking Christian girls. Poor babies- so confused and hurt by the ridiculous lies their religion tells them. How grateful they are when I lick and fuck their sweet little pussies, and hold them in my arms! All the while, the Christian boys are beating their little dicks under the covers, chanting, “I’m a sinner! I’m a sinner!” Haha, RAmen

I have a girlfriend, and she is the one that introduced me to this site.
    .
I must agree with you that evolution theory is just as much a religion as Christianity. It is an explanation of the unknown, and has more evidence than the Adam and Eve explaination. On the other hand evolution theory provides a kind of evidence that allows us to produce medicines to better our future.
    .
Now, as for telling us to shut the fuck up… Well I must say that we have freedom of religion, thought and speech. Sure there is mockery in our religion, but how is this different from Chritianity. Christain artwork converted Poseidon’s pitchfork into a symbol of the devil, just one of the many examples. If we must be silenced, then it should be done with justice to all other offending religions.

    @Ozymandias
Please do NOT resort to the same methods as the redneck-brand fundies. There is wenchly goodness, then there is obscene dialogue. we prefer to stick with the former.
    .
    @The person who started this:
Please do not generalize us. I, for one, believe that people have every right to religion, but ONLY as long as they don’t try to force it on others. Also, if you had looked a little into what Bobby believes, you have realised that he is more against pseudo-sciences than religions. Also, just look at the Academic Support page if you want our, well, academic support.
highly unpleasant bouts of swearing do not make you a good person, and if you have tolerance for those who are theistic then you should also have tolerance for those who are atheistic.

Who are the evolutionists for whom evolution acts as a religion?
    And in what ways?
That’s a very odd thing for scientist (if the author is one) to say.

This little bunny is a touch confused and should go back to these professors of which they speak and talk more…

    1. I’ve never heard anyone that supports evolution refer to themselves as “evolutionists”, that is a word used solely by creationists and IDiots
2.Belief in the faith seance is not necessary (or wanted).

LOLZ! SARTRE? MORE LIKE SATIRE CAMUS TOTALLY SMACKS DOWN THAT CHEESE_EATIN FRENCHIE

‘Makes them look like play schoolers’?

“Plus both Dostoevsky & Kierkegaard where alive in periods when Atheism was not really an option.”

Dostoevsky lived in the early 19th century. Hardly the time that they were burning witches. And Hagel, Kierkegaard’s predecessor, certainly wasn’t much of a theist.

“To go a little further Kierkegaard was the first recognised existentialist philosopher, I believe that a few other people before him border on getting that honor.”
Yeah. Someone like Blaise Pascal, perhaps?

Of course there are some Christians who are/were smarter than me. Even if they were ALL smarter than me, that doesn’t add validity to their claims…

But the rest of that argument aside, satire isn’t the same as normal mockery. We try for the most part to maturely express how we feel about our opinions. You on the other hand, say “I think that dipshits like yourself that mock the beliefs of others should be shot.” How can you expect to get respect when you do that?

“evolution serves the function of a religion for us” Exactly. We use evolution to provide us with an unquestionable belief that we won’t have to test, argue with, or question. I see your point.

“christians want to believe that Jesus is god” I thought he was his son… Oh well, I suppose it’s all ambiguous…

And anyway I think almost all of us do realize that religious people have the right to their beliefs, and we only argue with them in the hopes that they might decide (on their OWN will) to agree with us. We don’t have anything “against” people who express their opinions in a likewise peaceful and respectful manner, just those who start cursing us out and killing us.

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
