Bobby- I’m a graduate student

Bobby- I’m a graduate student in evolutionary biology at the University of [xxxxxxxx]. I love the pirate/global warning theory, and the way you’ve used your spaghetti monster to poke holes in ID. However, I’m also a follower of Jesus and I think you could get your point across while still respecting faith. I’d like to encourage you to continue your assault on ID and pseudoscience, but also to be respectful of God. Thank you, Levi

You need to realize that the Pastafarian “faith” is in no way designed to mock God. Many Pastafarians, though, do this. Bobby should not be at all blamed for the actions of other site members.

While I can see how some might interpret the FSM as a spoof mocking religion, it is nothing of the kind. Its only purpose is to point out how ID is really just creationism by another name, and the flaws in ID logic, as you yourself pointed out.

Instead of being upset, go make yourself a delicious plate of pasta instead and have a good laugh at the clever piece of of satire that is the FSM.

You shouldn’t flatter yourself, nerd. Pastafarianism has nothing to do with Jesus, or anything else. Why do you have to attack us? Why can’t you just let us worship in peace- the same rights you expect. Praise be! RAmen

Thank you very much, Levi. I, for one, appreciate this non-caps-lock-infested email.
May you be touched by His Noodly Appendage. RAmen.

How is FSMism more offensive to “god” than “god” is to FSMism?

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
