    Thank you.
We are proud, and we do feel like we’ve contributed.
It was very thoughtful of you to write this letter.

    @ Scientist

Is your University funded by fisher price because the last person I remember using so many Caps Locked letter was my 8 year old sister.

Also is “idiot” a scientific term or does it just substantiate my earlier hypothesis.

I see that this “scientist” has conveniantly refrained from giving ANY reasons (decent or otherwise) as to why he believes Bobby is an idiot.

SHOUTING THINGS VERY LOUD DOES NOT MAKE THEM TRUE! IT ONLY SHOWS MORE PEOPLE THAT YOU ARE WRONG!!!

Actually, idiot is a scientifically recognised term. proving that bobby has an iq less than 40 may be a difficult task though…

I would guess his ‘university’ would be Liberty College, the place that the late Jerry Falwell started. Somehow they got accreditation to hand out academic diplomas. So miracles do happen after all. FSM be praised for that.
The original poster claims to be a scientist. Well, there is one scientist then that I am very unhappy about to be in the same boat with.

I realise is it a bit late for this question – but what is with the random capitalisation and not? – none of the “you”’s are capitalised – how odd!

I would love to see that degree. I’ll probably see it at about the same time I see this “god” I keep hearing about, seeing as neither of them exist.

This is so funny, and true, that it hurts.

Here is the cool thing. The people who actually believe in “god” are so utterly devoid of critical thinking that they actually don’t get it, like, “hey, what the heck is THIS all about? These idiots beleive that god is made of pasta. Blasphemy! What fools!”

They cannot see that he FSM and their god…oh shit, nevermind. They wont even understand this comment.

But thank you for the funniest thing i have seen in a long time. However, personally, i worship oatmeal.

See, since I believe in it (oatmeal with cinnamon), it therefore has power. When good things happen, it is because of my oatmeal, and because I believe my oatmeal has powers, therefore what happens is real and a result of my belief in oatmeal. When bad things happen, my oatmeal is testing my faith in it. It says,”I am omnipotent. I am god. The world has good and bad things because i made it so. When bad things happen, this is to be sure that you actually believe in me. The weak would logically put 2 and 2 together and realize they are worshiping a bowl of oatmeal. But you, you, you faithful person, you believe.” And when nothing happens, that is my oatmeal forcing me to wait for more good and bad things to happen because, since I believe in oatmeal, oatmeal works like this.

    See?

Even though that last bit is against my religion (and therefore clearly false) it was actually quite well thought out. Bravo.
    .
Wow, does anybody else think it’s sad that I’ve been living with fundies for so long that I get so exited by a logical argument about religion? Really, I should be expecting that people think before the talk.

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
